You may have heard about some of the changes that the European Legal Service at the Tees Valley Joint Strategy Unit is currently undergoing, however, I thought I would take this opportunity to update you all on the current situation.
We are now working in conjunction with UK Trade and Investment, to offer a new service,
TRADING WITH EUROPE - EUROPEAN LEGAL INFORMATION SERVICE
The new service will assist firms from all over the North East rather than just the Tees Valley.
The Service will be refocused on trade within EU, it will be tailored to meet the specific needs of new and existing exporters. SME's will be helped through the vast amounts of new and existing legislation that could affect their international trade activity and provided with plain English explanations.
Our new work will include in depth support in the following areas:
Technical compliance or CE marking requirements
Selling online into other EU markets
Appointing an agent or distributor in the EU
Establishing an office in another EU country
Or any other area of EU rules and regulations.
Our services will remain completely free of charge.
The Legal and Business Issues Newsletter will be replaced by an International Trade e newsletter circulated by UK Trade and Investment to businesses on their database.
If you feel you would benefit from our services please let me know and we would be very happy to help.
The new website is currently under development, however, in the meantime please feel free to contact myself or Martin Boyle, our European Legal Officer, if you would like any further information on the new service or you have any questions.
